Despite the pleasure a woman has when she gives birth, it is not long before she starts thinking about losing weight after the pregnancy and getting back in shape. Much of this is the result of those famous mothers who can’t wait to show everyone just how quickly they regained their figure after the birth of a child. Of course the reasons behind their astounding weight loss after pregnancy is the likes of special clinics, personal trainers and time are never mentioned when publicizing these marvelous feats.

It is an unfair comparison because weight loss after pregnancy this way is not possible for the vast majority of mothers. However, what a recent mother should be thinking about is eating a healthy, nutritional diet that will help her body recover from the strain of childbirth. The sort of diet that a mother needs shouldn’t be more than two thousand calories a day incorporating a small amount of fiber; the food she eats should consist of:

* Carbohydrates should be half the daily intake
* Approximately a third as protein
* 10 percent fats

This will typically allow for a few of the mothers favorite foods which she should be allowed to enjoy after everything she has been through. Nevertheless, even a new mother requires some exercise to tone her body back up again after the exertion experienced from having a child; it will also give her some incentive when she sees the results. The exercise doesn’t have to be anything that is heavy, moderate and regular are the key aspects here as this way you will also enjoy it, although you won’t start seeing the benefits immediately.

How quickly you experience weight loss after pregnancy at this stage will depend on many things including how much you gained during the previous nine months. It is important that every mother knows that certain metabolic changes took place when the baby was born which can also have an effect on how quickly she loses weight. The order of the day is that losing weight after pregnancy will be more consistent and healthy if it is achieved slowly but surely through a healthy diet and regular physical activity.

It must be re-iterated that the loss should not be looked upon as something that must be done as quickly as possible as it should really come off about the same sort of pace it was put on. If this routine is maintained then there is no reason why the excess and unwanted weight you gained during the pregnancy should not be lost within a relatively short period of time. However, it is important to remember that if you are breastfeeding then those last stubborn pounds may not be lost until you stop!
